Position Summary:

The Early Youth Employment Services (EYES) Instructor provides leadership and direction for developing, scheduling and implementing the education and training services, metric development and program billing for EYES. This role teaches EYES curriculum to high school and middle school students on site. This role is also responsible for coordinating services with participant schools, referral sources, parent advisory groups and students. This is a PRN role and the instructors' hours will be determined by the school(s) assigned up to 29 hours per week.

1 position available; Must live within a reasonable distance to assigned working territory to include North Fulton, Cobb
and Cherokee Counties. Will be instructing hearing impaired individuals so must be proficient with ASL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops program guide, timeline of services, and project plan.
  2. Responsible for delivery of services for students in the EYES program, from time of referral to exit.
  3. Teaches pre-vocational skills curriculum (career exploration, job readiness, interview skills, etc.) to high school and GED students.
  4. Meets with referral sources, schools, and parent advisory groups for planning and implementation of program.
  5. Completes and carries out curriculum training.
  6. Develops lesson plans for students
  7. Schedules class times with identified schools and conducts initial site visits.
  8. Supervises and teaches classes in schools, at partner locations and at Tommy Nobis Center.
  9. Maintains effective control and management of classroom.
  10. With input from Manager, Youth Services , schedules additional Tommy Nobis Center team members to assist with teaching classes and supervision of participants.
  11. Assists in development of community sites for summer EYES program.
  12. Develops and completes weekly and monthly status reports for participants.
  13. Responsible for monthly billing process with referral sources.
  14. Tracks and collects performance metrics and outcomes

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in special education, rehabilitation, sociology, behavioral sciences or business administration or related field.

  • 3 years’ experience in vocational rehabilitation or teaching role.
  • Experience teaching or delivering career/work readiness to individuals with disabilities.
  • Certified in American Sign Language (ASL)
